Moody's reviews American Express

Moody's Investors Service said it placed on review for downgrade the long- and short-term ratings of American Express Co. (A2/Prime-1).

The action reflects concerns over Amex's recent asset quality and revenue trends, which have eroded since the negative outlook was assigned in October, and have led Moody's to reexamine credit loss and earnings expectations for the firm, according to the agency.
