Alco Stores gets OK to sell Kansas distribution center for $3 million

New York, Dec. 17 – Alco Stores, Inc. received approval to sell a distribution center located in Abilene, Kan. to Orscheln Supply LLC for $3 million, according to a Wednesday order from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The sale is part of Alco’s larger process of store closing and real property sales taking place in 23 states.

Orscheln’s purchase is expected to close on or before Dec. 30.

Alco is a Coppell, Texas-based broad-line retailer primarily operating in underserved communities. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 12 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas under Chapter 11 case number 14-34941.
