Alabama Power readies offering of series 2021B senior notes

Chicago, Nov. 15 – Alabama Power Co. is in the Monday investment-grade bond market with a new offering of series 2021B senior notes, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

There will be an optional make-whole call followed by a par call.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Mizuho Securities USA LLC, PNC Capital Markets LLC, Truist Securities, Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC are listed as joint bookrunners.

Regions Securities LLC, BMO Capital Markets Corp. , FHN Financial Securities Corp. and Huntington Securities, Inc. are listed as co-managers.

Drexel Hamilton, LLC, Loop Capital Markets LLC, Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., Inc. and Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC are also underwriting the notes.

Balch & Bingham LLP and Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP are working as counsel to the issuer.

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is advising the bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the company’s continuous construction program.

The issuer is an electric utility based in Birmingham, Ala., and a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Co.
