AgFeed USA requests court approval of 45-day exclusivity extension

By Kali Hays

New York, March 3 - AgFeed USA, LLC requested court approval of a further extension of its exclusive plan of reorganization filing and solicitation periods, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company would like to extend its filing period through April 21 from March 4 and its solicitation period through June 18 from April 30.

As previously reported, the company filed a plan on Dec. 18, which the company still maintains the ability to confirm, but cited "outstanding issues in connection with the plan" as cause for a further extension.

This is the company's third exclusivity extension request.

AgFeed USA, an Ames, Iowa-based producer of animal feed, filed for bankruptcy on July 15, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-11761.
