Ultra Petroleum said to be considering private placement deal

Portland, Ore., Sept. 15 - Ultra Petroleum Corp. is reported to be seeking new financing via the private placement market, a market source confirmed Tuesday.

The source said he believed JPMorgan was leading the deal.

"They have been out in the market four or five times before," he added.

The source declined to give further details.

Ultra Petroleum is a Houston-based natural gas exploration company.
