SunTrust Robinson announces four new directors to capital markets team

Norfolk, Va., July 23 – SunTrust Robinson Humphrey said it added Ron Caldwell and Akis Psarris as managing directors and Ricardo Simon and Matt Holbrook as directors to its capital markets team, according to a press release.

"The ongoing investment in our corporate debt platform is part of our strategy to deliver tailored solutions that serve the evolving needs of our clients,” Mark Huffstetler, head of capital markets origination, said in the release.

Caldwell joins as head of health-care syndicated and leveraged finance. He spent the previous 14 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch as part of a growing health-care leveraged finance team.

Psarris will head SunTrust Robinson’s liability management practice. He joins from Lloyds Bank, U.K., where he was a managing director in the debt capital markets group. Prior to Lloyds, Psarris was a managing director at JPMorgan, where he spent 11 years in its U.S. debt capital markets group as head of liability management.

Simon will head the commercial real estate and REIT syndicated finance practice. Before joining SunTrust Robinson, he was a director in the real estate syndicated finance group at Wells Fargo. His experience includes working with clients who required debt financing for recapitalizations, project loans and mergers and acquisitions.

Holbrook joins the syndicated and leveraged finance group after 10 years in BofA Merrill Lynch’s leveraged finance team in Charlotte, N.C., where he was most recently responsible for originating and structuring debt financings for consumer and retail clients.

“These hires complement our expertise across the banking, origination, sales & trading and research platform who work together to meet the needs of our clients,” Huffstetler added in the release.

SunTrust Robinson Humphrey is the Atlanta-based corporate and investment banking arm of SunTrust Banks, Inc., providing capital raising, strategic advisory, risk management and investment services to clients.
