S&P lifts SSE view to stable

Standard & Poor’s said it revised the outlook on SSE plc and related entities to stable from negative.

The agency also said it affirmed the company’s A- long-term and A-2 short-term corporate credit ratings.

The outlook revision reflects an opinion that SSE will maintain a stable operating performance over the medium term and that its business risk profile will not materially weaken, supported by a shift in investment toward low-risk regulated networks, S&P said.

The agency said it expects ratios to gradually strengthen over the medium term, supported by recovering U.K. wholesale energy markets, rising output in generation from renewable sources and stable contributions from regulated networks.
