By Sheri Kasprzak

New York, May 19 – Children’s of Alabama announced Tuesday it is contemplating a refunding offering through the Special Care Facilities Financing Authority of the City of Birmingham.

The hospital said in a statement that the deal would be used to refund its series 2009 bond, which has about $162,735,000 of outstanding principal. The 2009 bonds are due in 2034 and 2039.

Market conditions and other factors will be taken into consideration before the hospital commits to the deal, said the statement.
