Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price digital notes linked to S&P 500

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 29 – Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 23- to 26-month 0% digital notes linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the final index level is greater than or equal to 85% of the initial index level, the payout at maturity will be the maximum payment amount. Otherwise, investors will lose 1.1765% for every 1% that the index declines beyond 15%.

The maximum payment amount is expected to be $1,119 to $1,140 per $1,000 principal amount of notes.

The exact maturity date and maximum payment amount will be set at pricing.
