S&P ups Sherwin-Williams

Standard & Poor’s said it raised its issue rating on Sherwin-Williams Co.’s senior unsecured debt to A from A- and affirmed the A long-term and A-1 short-term corporate credit ratings on the company.

The rating on the senior unsecured debt is now the same as the corporate credit rating.

“Sherwin-Williams’ strong business risk profile reflects its position as the leading North American coatings producer, its stable operating margins, high return on capital, and low volatility of profitability,” said S&P credit analyst Allison Czerepak in a news release.
