Sagent hires Heather Smith to lead private financing solutions

Norfolk, Va., Feb. 12 - Sagent Advisors, LLC announced that Heather L. Smith has joined the firm as a managing director and will lead the firm's private financing solutions practice, according to a press release.

Smith, who will be based in the firm's New York headquarters, joins with more than 18 years of experience in the equity and debt private placement industry, having raised approximately $11 billion in capital for companies in the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.

Most recently, she was a partner and the head of private placements at Greentech Capital Advisors, where she raised capital for companies in the sustainable infrastructure sector, including a $1.25 billion equity and project financing for GreatPoint Energy and a €463 million recapitalization and growth financing for agri.capital, according to the press release.

"Heather is an outstanding professional and individual. She possesses the expertise, thoughtfulness and character that our clients have come to expect from us," chief executive officer Hal Ritch said in the release.
