Goldman plans 4.2% coupon five-year buffer notes tied to Russell 2000

Chicago, May 15 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 4.2% fixed coupon buffered notes due May 31, 2022 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Interest is payable quarterly.

The payout at maturity will be par unless the index falls by more than 15%, in which case investors will be exposed to any losses beyond the 15% buffer.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the agent.

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is the guarantor.

The notes will price on May 25.

The Cusip number is 40054LAY0.
