Prospect News reports two new defaults for week of Oct. 1 to Oct. 7

Pittsburgh, Oct. 9 – Prospect News reported two new defaults for the period of Oct. 1 through Oct. 7.
Specifically, Prospect News reported Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings made by American Apparel, Inc. and Miller Energy Resources, Inc.
Prospect News also reported a missed interest payment on Puerto Rico Public Finance Corp.’s series 2012A commonwealth appropriation bonds. However, Puerto Rico Public Finance previously defaulted in connection with a missed payment and a missed interest payment.
Prospect News has reported 133 defaults so far in 2015, including 66 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings, 18 missed interest payments, 10 Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act filings, eight distressed exchanges, five Chapter 15 bankruptcy filings, four bankruptcy filings, three administrations, two each of Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings, reorganizations, defaults, missed principal and interest payments and missed principal payments and one each of Chapter 9 bankruptcy filings, arrangements of debt, judicial recovery requests, missed payments, missed interest payments paid within the grace period, insolvencies, Schutzschirmverfahren in Eigenverwaltung, schemes of arrangement and moratoriums.
