Fitch rates Prudential notes A-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A- rating to $1 billion of 4.35% senior unsecured notes due 2050 issued by Prudential Financial, Inc.

The company's existing ratings are unaffected by the assigned rating, Fitch said.

The outlook is stable.

The rating assigned to the new senior notes is equivalent to the rating assigned to Prudential's existing senior notes, the agency said.

The notes are rated one notch lower than Prudential's long-term issuer default rating, Fitch said.

The proceeds will be used to fund upcoming debt maturities, Fitch said.

As a result, this issuance is not expected to impact Prudential's financial leverage, the agency said.
