S&P puts Nissan on CreditWatch negative

S&P said it placed Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.’s ratings on CreditWatch with negative implications, citing a challenging global auto market.

The agency said it also placed on CreditWatch with negative implications the A- issuer credit ratings on Nissan Motor’s overseas subsidiaries (Nissan Financial Services Australia Pty. Ltd., Nissan International Finance (Netherlands) BV, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp., Nissan North America Inc. and its A- long-term rating on debt they have issued.

“We intend to resolve the CreditWatch placements after closely reviewing the company’s earnings estimates for fiscals 2019 and 2020,” the agency said in a press release.
