S&P ups Lone Star

Standard & Poor's said it raised its corporate credit rating on Lone Star Technologies Inc. to BB+ from BB- following the successful completion of the company's acquisition by United States Steel Corp. (BB+/stable) in a transaction valued at $2.1 billion.

In addition, the agency said that all Lone Star ratings were removed from CreditWatch where they were placed with positive implications on March 29.

The outlook is stable.

With the acquisition successfully completed, S&P said it plans to withdraw its ratings on Lone Star.
