Fitch affirms Denmark at AAA

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Denmark's AAA long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating with a stable outlook.

“Denmark's ratings reflect a wealthy, high-value-added, open economy that is supported by low public debt, strong institutions and a track record of sound macroeconomic policy. External finance metrics are strong and the exchange rate peg functions well in the ERM2 regime,” the agency said in a news release.

“High household mortgage debt increases the economy's vulnerability to macrofinancial shocks, although the risks are partially mitigated by high net household wealth, including pension assets.”
