Three John Hancock municipal funds add portfolio manager Cynthia Brown

San Luis Obispo, Calif., March 27 – John Hancock Municipal Securities Trust announced that Cynthia M. Brown has been named as a portfolio manager for the John Hancock High Yield Municipal Bond Fund, the John Hancock Tax-Free Bond Fund and the John Hancock California Tax-Free Income Fund, effective March 27, according to separate 497 filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Dianne M. Sales will continue as a portfolio manager for the funds.

Boston-based John Hancock Advisers, LLC is the investment adviser to the funds.
