Interstate Bakeries posts $14.96 million operating loss for month ended Oct. 18

Pittsburgh, Dec. 3 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported a $14.96 million operating loss for the four weeks ended Oct. 18 on $215.35 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The figures compare to the $5.82 million operating loss posted for the four weeks ended Sept. 20 on $216.96 million in revenues.
The net loss for the latest period was $14.74 million, widening from a $5.74 million net loss for the previous period.
At Oct. 18, Interstate had $24.1 million in cash, up from $21.83 million at Sept. 20.
The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
