Internap Network Services' poison pill to terminate at end of year

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 23 - The board of directors of Internap Network Services Corp. unanimously voted to amend the company's preferred stock rights agreement, or poison pill.

The purchase rights will now expire on Dec. 31 rather than March 23, 2017, according to a company news release.

A majority of Internap's stockholders recommended termination of the plan at the company's 2009 annual meeting, the release said.

"This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to corporate governance best practices and our responsiveness to stockholders," chairman Dr. Daniel Stanzione said in the release.

Internap is an Atlanta-based internet solutions company.
