EnergySolutions amends to permit credit support for Zion purchase

By Sara Rosenberg

New York, Jan. 19 - EnergySolutions Inc. amended its credit facility, allowing for $200 million in credit support for the acquisition of the Zion Energy Center from Exelon Generating Co. LLC, according to an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

Prior to the amendment, the company would have only been allowed to get $50 million in credit support.

The credit support could take the form of incremental commitments under the company's letter-of-credit facility and/or a letter of credit, performance or fidelity bond by a third-party support provider.

The amendment was completed on Jan. 14.

Citicorp is the administrative agent on the deal.

EnergySolutions is a Salt Lake City-based provider of nuclear services.
