Constellation, Baltimore Gas and Electric file automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., March 2 - Constellation Energy Group, Inc. and the Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shelf covers debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, warrants, stock purchase contracts and units issued by Constellation and debt securities and preferred stock issued by Baltimore Gas and Electric. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Both companies will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.

Constellation is the Baltimore-based holding company of Baltimore Gas and Electric. Baltimore Gas and Electric is a regulated electric and gas public utility in central Maryland.
