Citigroup Global buys $337.18 million claim against Lehman Brothers

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 10 - Citigroup Global Markets Inc. bought two of Banco Banif, SA's $168.59 million portions of separate claims against Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. for a total of $337.18 million, according to a pair of Tuesday filings with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
Citigroup bought a $168.59 million portion of an unliquidated claim and a $168.59 million portion of a $657.43 million claim.
New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
