Brotman Medical Center seeks 18-day exclusivity extension to finalize plan documents

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 5 - Brotman Medical Center requested an 18-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to Sept. 22 from Sept. 4 and the solicitation period to Nov. 21 from Nov. 3.

According to the release, Brotman has reached an agreement in principle with its official committee of unsecured creditors on the terms of a plan of reorganization, but it needs the extra time to finalize the plan documents.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1.

Brotman, a privately held medical center serving the West Los Angeles, Calif., area, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 25, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-19705.
