Pittsburgh, Aug. 15 - Boscov's Department Store LLC's agents were to begin store closing sales in 10 of the company's locations on Aug. 16, according to a news release.

The sales will be conducted by a joint venture led by Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC.

As previously reported, Boscov's is closing a total of 10 underperforming stores in Baltimore; Glen Burnie, Md.; Owings Mill, Md.; Eatontown, N.J.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Langhorne, Pa.; Monroeville, Pa.; North Wales, Pa.; Pittsburgh; and Danville, Va.

The company previously said it expects the cost value of the merchandise at the stores being closed to be at least $34 million.

Boscov's, a Reading, Pa.-based regional department store chain, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 4 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-11637.
