New Issue: Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi prices $4.5 billion of notes in five parts

Virginia Beach, Sept. 3 – Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ priced $4.5 billion of notes (Aa3/A+/) in five parts, a market source said.

The bank sold $300 million three-year floating-rate notes at par to yield Libor plus 31 basis points.

A second tranche of notes was $1.2 billion of 1.45% three-year notes priced at 99.88 to yield 1.491%. The notes sold with a spread of Treasuries plus 53 bps.

There was also $1.25 billion of 2.35% five-year notes sold at 99.967 to yield 2.357%, or Treasuries plus 68 bps.

A $750 million tranche of 2.85% notes due 2021 sold at 99.805 to yield 2.881%, or Treasuries plus 78 bps.

Finally, a $1 billion tranche of 3.25% notes due 2024 sold with a spread of 88 bps over Treasuries. Pricing was at 99.628 to yield 3.294%.

All fixed-rate tranches sold at the tight end of talk.

Bookrunners were BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., MUFG and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC.

The retail and commercial banking arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is based in Tokyo.
