Banco Central do Brasil decides to increase Selic rate to 9½%

By Tali David

Minneapolis, Oct. 10 - Banco Central do Brasil's Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) announced that it unanimously decided to increase the Selic rate to 9½%.

The committee said it evaluated that this decision will contribute to set inflation into decline and ensure that this trend persists in the upcoming year.

The meeting minutes will be released in Portuguese on Oct. 17.
