S&P rates Maersk notes BBB+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned a BBB+ long-term rating to A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S (Maersk).

The outlook is stable.

The agency also said it assigned a BBB+ rating to the company's senior unsecured debt obligations.

The ratings reflect Maersk's major competitive advantages resulting from its large scale, broad scope, leading market positions and significant business and geographic diversity, S&P said.

The agency said it believes these factors reduce overall volatility in cash flow and profitability.

The ratings also reflect the group's moderate financial policy and expectations of continued high investment levels, S&P said.
