Anchor Glass requests extension to exclusive periods

New York, Dec. 2 - Anchor Glass Container Corp. asked for an extension to its exclusive periods in a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida Friday.

The company requested that its exclusive rights to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes be extended by 90 days. The right to file a plan currently ends on Dec. 7 with the vote solicitation ending 60 days later.

Anchor said it does not anticipate needing the full 90 days - it expects to file is reorganization plan on Dec. 15 - but is asking for the extra time to be "prudent," according to the court filing.

Anchor Glass, a Tampa, Fla., manufacturer of glass containers, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 8. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-15606.
